Exact Time Delivery (additional fee) gives you a guaranteed 1-hour delivery window at your requested date and time, handled by a dedicated delivery team. The delivery fee is calculated at checkout.

Married at Ancaster Mill, Celebrating at Home?
Ancaster Mill, the historic mill venue under the escarpment, offers its open-air Streamside Chapel for ceremonies of up to 250 guests and reception spaces for groups of up to 190, and its wedding packages include chairs, harvest tables and plate and flatware. If you'd rather host the reception on your own lawn, or add a rehearsal dinner or a next-day brunch at home for out-of-town guests, a tent package gives you the space without moving furniture from the venue. Which package fits my guest list?
The number in each package name is its recommended headcount, so start with the one nearest your RSVP count. To check that the head table, buffet and dance floor fit, lay them out in our free Event Space Planner.
Do I need a permit for a tent in Ancaster?
Ancaster is part of the City of Hamilton, so the City's tent rules apply. A building permit is required when a tent, or a group of tents not more than 3 m apart, covers more than 60 m² (about 646 sq ft). A 20×20 (about 37 m²) or 20×30 (about 56 m²) is under that size; a 20×40 (about 74 m²) or larger is over it. Every site is different, so please confirm with the City (City of Hamilton – Tents).
Do I need locates on a rural Ancaster property?
Yes, a line locate is required before any tent is staked. Ontario One Call arranges locates for public utilities, but privately owned lines (a septic bed, a well line, buried power to a pool, shed or barn, irrigation) aren't covered, so please mark them or tell us where they are before setup day.
Is setup included with a tent package?
Yes. Our crew delivers, installs and takes down every tent package. Customer pickup is not available. Setup is usually a few days before your event and teardown the day after, subject to weather and availability.
Do I need rentals for a wedding at Ancaster Mill?
Probably not for the venue itself. Ancaster Mill says all of its wedding packages include its event space, chairs, custom wood harvest tables and all plate and flatware, so check with the Mill's coordinator before booking anything extra for your day there. Where we come in is the rest of the weekend at home: a rehearsal dinner, welcome party or next-day brunch on a family property, with a tent, tables, chairs and tableware delivered to the door. How much is the deposit?
A 25% deposit is required on all bookings. It's non-refundable, except for a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours of confirmation and the event is more than 2 weeks away. The remaining 75% balance and a refundable security deposit of 25% of the total rental fee are due 5 days before your rental starts (2 weeks before for rentals over $2,000). The security deposit is refunded within 7 business days after all items are returned in good condition, less any deductions for damage (unless covered by the Rental Protection Plan), loss or additional charges.
Is there a Rental Protection Plan?
The Rental Protection Plan is optional and non-refundable: 10% of the total rental fee, available at booking. It covers accidental damage during normal use, excluding negligence, misuse, theft, loss, or intentional damage.
